The RQAW | DCCM Construction Inspection team is currently partnered with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) LaPorte District on a major roadway improvement project along a 10-mile stretch of SR 29 near Logansport, Indiana. This corridor plays an important role in connecting the City of Logansport to Indianapolis and the many rural communities in between. With its daily use of heavy farm equipment, semi-trucks, and school buses, SR 29 had begun to deteriorate and was in need of a long-term solution.

This contract is made up of four different projects, including two Full Depth Reclamation projects, a small structure repair along SR 29, and a resurfacing project on SR 329, each designed to strengthen and improve the roadway. These improvements will provide long-term benefits directly to the local community:

Farmers: Stronger pavement means less rutting and shoulder damage from heavy farm equipment and semi-trucks, allowing farmers to move equipment and transport crops more safely and efficiently.

Schools: A smoother, more reliable road helps ensure school buses can travel safely without delays or concerns about road conditions, keeping students safe and on time.

First Responders: SR 29 is an essential route for ambulances, fire trucks, and police traveling between rural communities and Indianapolis. The upgraded roadway helps emergency services reach those in need faster and more reliably.

“Being part of this project has been rewarding because it directly improves the quality of life for the community. SR 29 is heavily traveled with semi-trucks, farm equipment, and the public, and strengthening this roadway means safer, more reliable travel for everyone. It is a great opportunity for RQAW | DCCM to be a part of.”
Felicia Archuleta
Construction Project Supervisor

Throughout construction, our inspection team has worked closely with INDOT, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure quality, safety, and transparency at every stage. By addressing pavement strength, drainage, and structural repairs all under one contract, this project will extend the life of SR 29, reduce the need for ongoing maintenance, and lower future repair costs for taxpayers.

“It’s a pleasure working with RQAW | DCCM because they always provide a high-quality construction inspection team. They are experienced in the field and timely with Final Construction Record submission and completion. They represent INDOT well and make the area engineer’s job a little easier.” - Kelly Nethercutt, INDOT LaPorte District Area Manager

This project is currently underway and is scheduled for completion in November 2025.
